Configure Project Templates

Save time and effort by creating project templates that enable you to share configuration settings between multiple projects.

Create and configure a project template and link it to projects.

  1. In the main menu, click (Settings) > Project Templates.
A list of existing project templates is displayed.
Tip: Seeker supplies two out-of-the-box templates:
    • Standard: preconfigured with the most typical settings.
    • Low overhead: preconfigured to minimize the performance overhead caused by Seeker Agents. All project features that might impact application performance or behavior are deactivated.
You can modify these templates to fit your specific testing needs and environment.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • To create a new template, click +Add project template. Enter a name and a unique key for the template and click Save.
    • To edit an existing template, click the template name or click Edit in its entry in the list.
    The template configuration page opens.
  3. Edit the template name, if needed. However, you can't edit the key.
  4. Click the tabs to configure various features for the template:
  5. Save your changes.

Next Steps

When creating a new project or editing an existing one, link it to a template to apply all the template settings to the project.

For instructions, see Add a Project or Edit a Project.

Important:
  • You can override any setting of any individual project without affecting the linked template.
  • Any subsequent changes in the template settings will be automatically applied to all the linked projects.
  • Any overridden settings of any linked project are preserved when a template is changed.
  • Linking a project to another template will change all the project settings inherited from the current template to match the new one.
  • Removing the template from a project does not affect any project settings.
